There are moments in life when you just need to appreciate where you are physically and where you are as a person. Where you need to take the time to appreciate the big and small things surrounding you.
For me, Pongwe beach was such a place and such a time.
We planned to take some time for ourselves before going on to the barer parts of our trip and as soon as I saw the moonlit beach on the first night I knew we were onto something special.
After over 6 months of careful planning, budgeting and dreaming we were entirely by ourselves witnessing the full moon over the Indian ocean. Us!
A, the little dreamer girl from a small Polish village!
Me, a boring career man born on a small island in the middle of the Atlantic!
We have actually embarked on a life changing, life challenging trip of discovery of a world in turmoil with a pandemic!
Are we mad? Are we brave? Is this insanity?
Perhaps… Perhaps we are both mad and brave. But for this magical moment under the moonlight we are right where we belong (intentional musical reference).
So many people dream of going places, doing more things , of seeing more things, of simply being more…
We do not know how our journey will end up but we have proven to ourselves that we are capable of more than just dreaming. We know that when our souls and minds go to darker places we can look back at the abyss with pictures and thoughts and memories from this awe inspiring travel of ours.
Whenever it gets hard, we can always go back to that moonlit night at Pongwe beach and know that we have conquered fear in the past and we can do it again in the future.

Oh, what a night!
