The most perfect picnic!

Our trip to Lithuania was a whimsical decision to take a late September flight out of Warsaw.

After almost running away from work on a Friday afternoon and away from a meeting where I was getting my head very literally ripped off, I desperately needed to unwind and so we decided to have a beach picnic.

And what a wise decision that was!

We took the bus to Šventoji, bought some grilled chicken, bread and beers at the local supermarket and made our way to the seaside.

The sun was shining, the wind was blowing and there was a chilly sea breeze in the air as we sat down to share the moment.

There is nothing quite like taking a step back from everyday life to put things into perspective and there at that beach, which we practically had to ourselves, stuffing our faces with chicken and beer, things were perfect for a moment.

For that singular moment, the troubles at work didn’t matter and the everyday issues were far away. There were only us, the sunshine, the wind and the ocean.

It was the most perfect picnic in the most unexpected way.
